China's Zhongyuan Special Steel, one of major manufacturers of retained mandrel, heavy precise forgings and drill tools in China has commissioned Austria's Siemens Metals to install a vertical continuous caster at its new EAF steelmaking project.
It's known that the vertical continuous caster is designed to produce heavy blooms with a round cross-section and its annual production capacity is at 370,000 tons.
Meanwhile, the caster is equipped with a newly designed multi-roller drive unit, helping Zhongyuan Special Steel to produce high quality steel grades.
Besides, the vertical continuous caster is expected to be commissioned by end of 2014.
